Rider of the Year

It took a huge family effort to get Oliver Wilson, our Youth member from Tain, down south for the ACU ABC&D British Championship rounds this year. But the effort reaped the benefits when Oliver clinched the ACU Youth C (Medium Wheel) British Trials Championship at the final round in Surrey. It is both an honour and privilige for the club to have a British Trials Champion in our membership for the first time.

To mark Oliver’s achievement, he was invited to be Guest of Honour at the club’s awards ceremony on Saturday 26th November at Fairways Leisure in Inverness. Oliver not only presented the prizes, but collected his Youth C Club Championship trophy and was also awarded the rider of the year trophy for the ‘Most Improved Rider’ for 2022.

Gordon Lawley, an ACU official said: “It’s absolutely brilliant for me to see Oliver receiving the award from the Inverness & District MCC Ltd for his achievements during 2022. The amount of travelling Oliver and his family have had to endure to compete in the ACU ABC&D British Youth Championship just shows the dedication. Oliver has been riding a Beta 80cc Medium Wheel throughout the 2022 Championship series.”

Gordon Bain Photography was present to capture all the awards.

Seen here is Oliver with IDMCC Ltd, General Secretary, John Moffat at the awards evening which was for all club members.

Oliver is a winner!

Oliver Wilson is the new 2022 ACU Youth C (Medium Wheel) British Trials Champion.

The ten year old Beta rider from Tain clinched the Belle Trailers sponsored British championship at the Surrey Schoolboys event on 16th October. To recognise his achievement, the club have invited Oliver to be Guest of honour and present the trophies at the annual Awards Presentation Ceremony at Fairways Leisure in Inverness on Saturday 26th November.

The club are delighted as this is the first time a member has been crowned a British Trials Champion.

Well done Oliver!
