Stevie gets the cash!

The club held its national trial on Sunday 8th September in glorious weather, the 12th Paul Kilbauskas Memorial trial was well supported with 88 riders competing for Scottish Championship points being round 7.

This year we decided to have a prize draw with a good prize, £100 to be exact. Without observers and land, we have no event.

David Kinnear, the factor of Alvie Estates Ltd was on hand in the morning to draw the winning ticket, this identified Inverness club member, Steve Jamieson as the £100 winner.

Fin Yeaman was on hand to photograph Steve with Club Chairman, Grant Coward with the cheque from the club.

SACU set to make Lanyards Compulsory for 2020

Just an early ‘heads up’ that all machines used in SACU competitions may have to have kill switch lanyards fitted for the 2020 season.

At present they are only required for Championship trials, but there is an indication that they will need to be fitted to all machines for all SACU trials from 2020 onwards.

The main problem is that they cannot be fitted to older 4 stroke classic machines which use the magneto electrical system, so these may be the only exception.

It is not clear if this will apply to ACU riders who ride in SACU events as they have ACU licences and the rule at present does not apply.

More information will be released from the SACU at the appropriate time, but it may be a good idea to get a lanyard kill switch fitted to your bike sooner rather than later.

Youth Members’ BIG DAY OUT

As part of the Inverness & District MCC youth promotion, in memory of our life member, Paul Kilbauskas, our youth members had an ‘activity day’ courtesy of the club at the G2 Outdoor Zip Wire facility on Alvie Estate on Saturday 29th June.

Alvie Estate are of course our Main Trial Partner for our Highland Classic 2 Day Trial and Paul Kilbauskas Memorial Trials, and we like to support the businesses who are tenants of the estate.

Accompanied by committee members and members parents, they were all treated to lunch at the Italian restaurant at Aviemore. It was voted a great success by all who attended.
