ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM was held on Monday 10th December at Fairways with a very disappointing turnout of only 20 members, especially with all the sandwiches ordered! Apologies were received from 8 members. Both the Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer presented their reports with the financial statement being accepted as correct. As the Club is on a sound financial footing, Membership and Trial Entries will stay at 2007 levels. Proposals and voting took place for Club Officials due for re-election.

Chairman : Malcolm Smith (also a Director)

Secretary/Treasurer : Dave Mackay

Directors : Alex Carmichael, John Moffat, Tom McBride

Committee : Graham Allan, Stewart Anderson, Garry Coward, Mike Lumsden, Stephen Mackay, Alistair McArthur, Jim McDougall, Gordon Murray

Discussions took place on the under noted subjects and were agreed.

Charitable Donation : Highland Hospice was the chosen recipient and a presentation will take place early in 2008.

Autumn Trial : It was agreed by all to rename this trial, "The Paul Kilbauskas Memorial Trial" after Paul, who sadly passed away in October. His family also donated a trophy to be presented to one of the Youth riders at the discretion of the Committee.

Pre 65/Twinshocks : Pre 65 and Twinshock bikes will be catered for at all trials and will have their own Championship if there is sufficient interest. The former "Inter" route will be reclassified as a "C" route for the older bikes and Inter Youths.

Observing Standards : A long discussion took place on observing standards and it was agreed that a meeting would take place before the beginning of the 2008 Championship to eradicate any confusion.

Minders for Youth C & D riders only

C & D riders may have a non-competing adult rider follow them around the course to give help where required.

The 'minder' must be a member of an SACU club.

The 'minder' must display the competing rider's competition number, suffixed by an M to demonstrate his right to be on the course.

The 'minder' will sign on and pay an insurance premium of £1.50, giving him the same cover as a competing rider.

Adult Upgrading

Novice to Non-expert upgradings may be given for riders on both A & B routes, subject to a minimum of 3 riders. The club will state in the supplementary regs which route riders should use and if awards will be given for both routes. Non-expert to Expert upgradings will only occur on the A route, again subject to a minimum of 3 riders.

SACU Clubman's Trophy.

A new Championship, the Clubman Class, has been introduced in a bid to improve entries at Adult Championship meetings. Entry forms will be amended to include the Clubmans Class, which will be ridden on the B route.

The top 20 eligible riders will gain Championship points, irrespective of what class the ride in (eg Novice, Non-expert, Over40 etc.)

Only riders who have never achieved Expert status are eligible to compete. A rider may only win this Championship once.

A rider who gains Expert status within the calendar year may continue in this Championship or switch to the Adult Championship. A rider cannot win both Championships in the same year.
